The big day has come – I am now officially in my 30’s!! At first I was a bit intimidated by this, but the more I started to think about it, I actually started to feel more and more accepting of this transition. This year has been the best year of my life, having started a successful styling business, in a wonderful relationship and not to mention in the best shape and health of my life. I know who I am more now than ever before, and I haven’t felt this happy or secure about myself in a while. So, my thinking is that it can only get better from here, right?
I wanted to celebrate this day with family and close friends, which I did. It really was a day of pampering (as it should be). I spent part of the day at the spa with my mom, followed by getting my makeup done by my friend Katherine Crenshaw, who is an extremely talented makeup artist and the founder of Cren de la Cren in Austin. Plenty of champagne was … Read More »
Brrrrrrrr, it’s been so cold in Austin the past couple of days! Just a little over a week ago it was 80 degrees, now it’s in the 30’s. I’m not complaining though, at least it finally feels like the holidays! Sometimes it can be hard to look put-together while also trying to stay warm, but with enough layers it can be accomplished. Tights are a must (even under your jeans when it’s really cold). Accessories like hats and gloves are also important for keeping your head and hands warm.
I recently acquired this adorable pink skirt from Topshop and I am absolutely obsessed with it, so I had to figure out a way to wear it in the cold weather! I’m usually not a pink person at all, but the delicate color, shape and asymmetrical hemline really attracted me to it. It’s definitely a different look for me, but I love it. I’ve also been seeing pastels everywhere for fall. Layered with tights, tall boots, a blazer, coat and gloves left me feeling very cozy and protected from the … Read More »
Holiday season is officially here and I couldn’t me more excited! For me, the holidays mean it’s time for our family’s Eggnog Party (a tradition that has been going on for about 15 years now), my birthday, and our annual family holiday trip to St. Maarten where we spend Christmas and New Years. Besides all of that, it’s just a fun time to spend with family and friends. Dressing for the holidays is also so fun, and it’s all about sparkle, shimmer, and luxe details.
Here are a few amazing holiday pieces I found to get you through all the parties and festivities in glamour and plenty of holiday cheer!

This is my first time to be wearing this top and skirt and I couldn’t be more excited about it! I acquired this lace topduring the launch ofIsabel Marant for H&M. I love the intricate lace detail and the fitted shape. This midi skirt is my latest purchase from one of my favorite online shopping sites, Pixie Market. I’m obsessed with the big pleats and shape! I decided to add a bit of sparkle with my Venna crystal necklace, which was a birthday present. This outfit will be perfect for an event or occasion where I want to look a little dressy and feminine.

Here are some of my latest and greatest beauty purchases that I am absolutely obsessed with. Enjoy!
Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave in Conditioner
This is the most amazing leave-in conditioning treatment I have ever used! It leaves my hair so soft, and did I mention it smells like cotton candy?
Phyto Subtil Elixir Intense Nutrition Shine Oil
This stuff smells just as decadent as it makes your hair feel and look. It’s a rich oil treatment and I’ll use it as a mask once a week, or I’ll even put a little bit on dry ends to give my hair a piecey, textured look.
Fresh Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask
I had been hearing a lot about the benefits of honey for your skin, so as soon as I saw this I knew I had to try it! Honey is moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, etc. This product proves everything I have heard, as it makes my skin look radiant and feel incredibly soft.
Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex
I travel a lot so the size of this product is originally what attracted me to it. It’s small enough to … Read More »
I think it’s safe to say that wearing head-to-toe white is an incredibly glamorous look, especially for fall. One of my favorite looks for fall is pairing a chunky sweater with a sleek, feminine skirt. The casualness of the sweater mixed with the dressiness of the skirt is a perfect balance when you feel like looking polished but not overdone.
You can easily take this look from day-to-night by swapping out a few accessories. Switch out your day satchel for a printed clutch, your pumps with some glamorous metallic heels and add a bold statement necklace in a bright jewel tone.

I love the look and feel of black and white clothing pairings, and I’ve been gravitating towards this combination more and more as the weather cools down. The contrast of black and white is so chic and classic, not to mention one of the biggest trends of the year. It’s a great alternative if you aren’t in the mood for wearing a bright color or print!

Rome has always and will forever be one of my favorite cities in the world. This was my third time there, but it was just as charming and amazing as the last. The history, architecture, culture, art, food, wine – just about everything is amazing. I could get lost in the winding streets and piazzas just taking it all in and watching the world go by with a glass (or two or three) of wine.
I just couldn’t resist getting some shots around the coliseum. I mean, it’s one of the most iconic structures in the world, and the light looks so beautiful on it close to sunset.

Lately I’ve been completely obsessed with the online retailer, Pixie Market. Their pieces are unique, edgy, on-trend andtotally affordable (we’re talking under $200). If you’re looking for a great standout piece, like this skirt, sweater anddress, or just something fun and different, like this clutch, then Pixie Market will be your go-to shop!
If you happen to be in New York, go check out their boutique on Stanton St. on the Lower East Side. Not quite the selection available online, but you are guaranteed to find something special!
New York Fashion Week has come and gone again, but the looks that came down the runway for Spring 2014 are still fresh on our minds. Some of the major trends that stood out arecrop tops (as seen at Tibi, Tracy Reese and Rag & Bone), perforated fabrics (as seen at Tibi, Rebecca Taylor and Tracy Reese), “electric floral prints” (as seen at Tracy Reese, Tibi, and Rebecca Taylor), head-to-toe white (as seen at Tibi and Tracy Reese – and almost everywhere else), mixed prints (as seen at Tracy Reese), and metallic and shiny fabric finishes (as seen at Zimmermann and Rag & Bone). These were a few of my favorites, but there were so many beautiful collections that it was hard to choose! Other designers that stood out were Carolina Herrera,Milly,Helmut Lang,Delpozo, Bibhu Mohapatra and J. Crew (mostly for their insanely amazing shoe collaboration with Sophia Webster!).

I just came across Edie Parker’s Spring/Summer 2014 clutch collection, and I am absolutely in love! Made of acrylic with metallic hardware, they have a vintage feel, but the … Read More »
Last week in New York I had the pleasure of meeting the talented handbag designer, Khirma Eliazov. I was in awe of all the beautiful bags that surrounded me upon walking into her charming West Village boutique (flagship store and headquarters). Gorgeous totes, shoulder bags and clutches made from luxurious materials like crocodile, python and stingray, and in bright pops of color like orange, yellow and cobalt blue. I also got a glimpse of the Spring 2014 collection, which was no disappointment! I might have to splurge on a new bag come spring…
After chatting with the designer I discovered that previous to starting her company 4 years ago she was an editor at Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, as well as a brand consultant and a fashion stylist. Quite the resume!
I love getting the chance to meet with amazing designers like Khirma. It’s so inspiring to hear their stories and see where they draw their inspiration. I get to go back to my clients and not only show them the products, but tell them the story behind it.
I’ve been seeing gray everywhere lately. It has been coined as fall’s “new neutral”. Well, I’m loving all the shades of gray, and will definitely be incorporating a few of these pieces into my fall wardrobe. With it’s cool tones and steel-like appearance, gray is undeniably one of the chicest and most sophisticated neutrals ever.
I love the clean look when pairing gray and white together, as well as the bold, yet classic, look when pairing gray with richer colors like red, oxblood and orange.

As fall approaches, I like to start incorporating bright pops of red into my look. Red is one of those classic colors that look great year round, but for some reason it just seems especially appropriate for the fall and holiday seasons.
My latest purchase is this red Proenza Schouler PS1 satchel. I needed a great everyday bag, and I’ve had my eye on this style and color for quite a while now. My wardrobe consists of a lot of black, white and gray, so red was the perfect accent color to accompany the rest of my closet. Red can also be considered as a neutral, as it looks great with so many other colors and prints.

Cobalt blue is one of my favorite shades. Its so vibrant, flatters every skin tone and it looks great from day to night. It’s that perfect pop of color when you need some! It’s also a great transition color as we get into August and start to think about fall.
Try pairing your cobalt pieces with classic black and white accents for a chic finish.

I typically don’t wear earrings very often, but the latest trend in ear accessories has definitely caught my eye. Ear cuffs seem to be all the rage right now, and for good reason. There’s something really glamorous, yet edgy, about this style and it stands out from your typical stud or chandelier earring.
I recently stumbled upon the designer, Ryan Sorter, and have been obsessed with his Swarovski adorned ear cuffs ever since, so I’m thinking it might be time to get one!

This past weekend I attended a wedding in Boise. The location was at the Idaho Botanical Gardens, so I wanted my outfit to reflect the vibrant setting we were in. As you may have seen in a previous post, I was raving about head to toe prints, and I was so eager to try this out for myself that I bought this printed top and skirt from Clover Canyon (whose prints I love!) and wore it to the wedding. I can tell you that no one else was rocking this look, and I received quite a few compliments as well!
If you are hesitant about wearing this head to toe style, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try it out!

Even though my focus is on fashion, I’m still a sucker for amazing skincare and beauty products. I’ll be sharing these obsessions with you every couple of weeks in a new series called “Beauty Roundup”.
Hope you enjoy!
Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads – I use these a couple of times a week and I can really see a difference. They are packed with skin-nurturing ingredients like vitamins A, C, D, E & F, and green tea extracts. My skin looks more radiant and feels incredibly smooth!
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream – The extreme Texas heat takes a toll on my skin, and leaves my lips feeling very dry. This product is amazing at packing in long-lasting moisture for my skin and lips.
YSL Glossy Stain – I love lip stains, but most of them leave my lips looking flaky and feeling dry. This stain is more like a gloss, and gives your lips moisture with the lasting power of a stain.
Touchback Brow Marker – This marker makes filling in your brows a breeze, and less abrasive than pencil fillers.
Amika Nourishing Mask – I use this hair mask once or twice a … Read More »
Summer in Austin is all about outdoor concerts – which are really fun, but can also be very hot (we’re talking over 100 degrees hot)! I like to keep my Texas summer style cute but casual, wearing tons of shorts, tank tops and breezy sundresses. Add some metallic accessories and you are ready to go!

Take a cue from celebrities, the runway, and street style – head to toe prints are huge! Not to mention, they also look amazing on. There’s something so chic and put-together about head to toe prints when worn the right way. I think the key is to keep the look fairly tailored. A sharp suit or skirt/jacket combo is the way to go.
Brands like J. Crew, Topshop and ASOS are all carrying these head to toe styles, so be sure to check them out to find your perfect print!
Summer is all about light fabrics, bright prints, short shorts, simple accessories and strappy sandals. With temperatures rising, there’s nothing more comfortable (or chic) to throw on than a bright white sundress and a pair of metallic flat sandals.
Here are a few of my favorite summer pieces to get you through the warm weather months in style. Most of these pieces are extremely versatile, and can be mixed and matched with each other, so you really do get the most out of your summer wardrobe!

Moda Operandi, one of my favorite fashion sites, is having the sale of a lifetime right now! Their first ever Summer Sale is going on right now and offering up to 70% off on some amazing designer goods. Some of my favorite items from the sale include this gorgeous printed kaftan from Adriana Degreas, this sculptural cuff from Vionnet, this Peter Pilotto skirt, these Nicholas Kirkwood sandalsand this embroidered dress from Narciso Rodriguez. Bottom line, you MUST check this sale out ASAP!
This season has been all about (silver) metallic, and I’m definitely a fan! From shoes to bags to metallic elements on apparel, these shiny components are attention grabbing yet give your look a cool sophistication.
I also love metallic because of its ability to be so versatile. You can pair some metallic pumps with jeans and a t-shirt for day, then switch it out with a cute printed dress for night. The possibilities are endless!
Top: Helmet Lang, Skirt: Jil Sander, Necklace: Zara, Bag: Proenza Schouler, Watch: Breitling, Shoes: Zara, Sunglasses: Forever21
Summer is all about sexy, skin-baring styles and strappy shoes. These lace-up heels are all of those things combined into one. No matter what you wear them with, they instantly give your look a sultry appeal. They are perfect for enhancing a glamorous cocktail look, or giving a feminine touch to jeans and a tank.
We’ve been seeing this shoe trend everywhere lately – here are some of my favorite lace-up styles!

A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to style an amazing fashion photo shoot in Scottsdale, AZ. Although I’m primarily a personal stylist working one-on-one with individual clients, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to style a cool desert photo shoot with fashion photographer, Anthony Chiang.
Fashion photography is the perfect way for a stylist to express their creativity through clothing and accessories, and this shoot was no exception. The desert landscape broken up with lush flowers and palm trees was the perfect backdrop for our bohemian style shoot.
I hope you enjoy the photos!
Prints are everywhere right now, but the prints on these skirts have a completely different feel than your typical floral or geometric. These scenic print skirts are such a cool and unique take on a classic print. From surfers strolling down a beach to an African safari, these skirts seem to take you somewhere new and exciting with each changing landscape. I’ve also been seeing prints like this on other items like swimwear and tops, so be on the lookout for your favorite scene to wear!

I’m a big proponent of wearing one great statement piece then keeping the rest of my look simple, which is why I had to feature this gorgeous Alexander McQueen De-Manta Butterfly-Print clutch. The bright pop of neon yellow and the cool folded shape make this one of my favorite pieces this season – it just makes such a statement! Keep the rest of your look simple with solid colors and minimal accessories.
A bright bag or shoe is a great way to give an otherwise plain outfit a fun pop of color, and add interest to your look!

With summer approaching, you can’t help but think about trips to the beach and the beautiful green & blue colors of the ocean. That’s why I love everything in Sea Glass Green right now. It’s like a mixture of blue and green. It’s so tranquil, and one of those summer shades that’s neutral enough to go with a variety of other colors. You can go bold and pair it with red or orange, or for a lighter look try pairing it with white or nude. Add metallic accessories for a sophisticated touch!

I love dressing in St. Maarten because it’s one of those beach communities that’s so laid back that anything goes. You could wear your swimsuit and cover-up out to dinner and to the bar and no one would care. The easy breezy lifestyle make it a great atmosphere for flowy dresses and minimal accessories, which is why I chose this white linen dress from Calypso St. Barth, one of my favorite go-to’s for chic beachwear!
I actually wore the same dress as a cover-up to the beach a few days prior to this, so you really do get a lot of great use from these pieces when you are there! Just pair it with some strappy shoes and gold accessories, and your ready for a night out on the town.

Villa Amalfi is my family’s vacation home on the island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean. I’ve been going there for about 6 years now, so it’s practically a home away from home at this point, and by far one of my favorite places in the world to visit. The views are stunning, I never get tired of waking up to them in the morning, and the grounds are perfectly manicured with gorgeous tropical flowers in every direction. Here are a few photos from my trip there in March/April of this year, enjoy!
My mom, Gay Gaddis, was interviewed on Bloomberg TV yesterday, and guess who got to style her? She wore an amazing Helmut Lang jacket with a blue digitized floral print. The color looked amazing on TV, and really made her eyes pop. Other than the fact that she looked fabulous, she also did a fabulous job with her interview!
Watch the video to see the outfit and interview.
More and more, I find myself reaching for red to incorporate into my look. It instantly adds a chic sophistication that’s hard to miss. Not to mention, it’s one of the hottest colors in fashion right now. We saw red all over the runway for S/S 2013 and it looks like it will make a big comeback for fall as well. Whether it’s a red shoe, jacket, bag or just a bold red lip, this hot hue will punch up your look and add instant polish and glamour.
